  1. Some guys will set up ONR in a insecticide type pump sprayer. Spray down an area, say roof and hood. They will then begin the No Rinse as suaul on the roof, this gives the ONR solution time to dwell on the hood, which is where most of the grime is from bugs and such. Then No Rinse the hood as usual. Move on around the car until done. No Rinse is designed to break down and emulsify grime so some cars will be clean and ready for drying after one pass of your mitt. Other will need 2 or 3 passes. The test is to look at your drying towel. It should be pretty much free from dirt after drying a panel. Anthony
  2. None in Opti-Seal. It's safe for PPF.
  3. We are so behind and back logged on our contributions to this forum it's not funny. We finally got our blog up just the other day...... So we are doing videos and such but tough finding time to edit them and even post. There is a big change coming to the forums in the form of them becoming larger......."possibly". The name will change but the "optimum" will stay and become a sub-forum to a much larger community. You can visit our website www.concoursautosalon.com and from there visit our blog and see what's going on with our shop. Anthony
  4. It's lasted 3 years here in South Texas.........which is mildly hot
  5. Shawn, This would be up to Dr. G himself. Give him a call and talk with him about it.
  6. Honestly I don't know about the cost.....last I knew it would sell for around $90 for several ounces. That amount should do at least 3 sedan size cars or at least 4 Porsche size cars. We charge $150 for a coating application on top of what we charge for paint correction. So if it costs $300 for paint correction add another $150 for the Opti-Coat. We (or the installer) guarantee the Opti-Coat against failure in the sense of durability. We don't guarantee against hard water spots or etching from eggs, bird bombs, etc. We sell it like this: Opti-Coat is a paint sealant on steroids. Think of it as giving you all the benefits of a wax or sealant (gloss, shine, protection) but with at least 3 years durability. As for Corvettes.....it works fine, as well as on boats. Anthony
  7. It can be used on plastics BUT it is also a bit more difficult to remove from these surfaces so make sure you do a test area prior to full application and that you also tape off trim that it mat get on by mistake. It will not clean nor restore plastics and trim so that needs to be done prior to Opti-Coat application. Opti-Coat will give these surfaces somewhat of a shine and will also protect them from fading. I would not recommend Opti-Coat on rubber trim or surfaces that "flex" or are porous. If in question the best thing is to test an inconspicuous area first. Anthony
  8. Nothing yet but I believe if you call Optimum you can get on the product list as again there is no stock on hand of the product it's made as you order it. Make sure you have some of those blue shop towels for application, alcohol for pre-application wipe downs and some nice microfiber towels dedicated to Opti-Coat buffing only. I'll post up later in this forum our application method. Anthony
  9. As far as I know it is only slated for pros at the moment. The main issue here is someone using it in a way or applying it to an area that would not be easily removed. Pro's are also the main target because it works best on paint that has been properly prepped and finished out. It can be a temperamental product to apply so there is a bit of a learning curve. This policy may change at a later date but for now I believe it stands to be sold to pros only. Thanks, Anthony
  10. Well the time is at hand, finally, for Opti-Coat (Opti-Guard) to be released! Those of you who are professional detailers can start placing your orders with Optimum perhaps as early as next week. Just a final re-wording of the release form is all that is needed and that should be finished in the next day. I realize this product has taken a great while to get out but it's finally here. I will announce on this thread when the official date will be but look for the ability to place orders for Opti-Coat next week sometime, of that I am pretty certain. Anthony
  11. Nice find I have something similar to those that I also use for ONR and buffing glass. Anthony
  12. Using AIO after the 1z will remove the 1z. If you wait at least 24 hours after the 1z then the OptiSeal should work with no problem. As long as there are no cleaners in the products you're using you can lay down some OS and then cover that with some wax or sealant also. If the paint is in nice shape you can also lay down some PoliSeal and then OptiSeal. Anthony
  13. Not certain but it sounds like a "sales" post for items he has linked. Have to keep an eye on it. I PM'd the guy.
  14. Very Nice! Great gloss on both cars, especially the Ford. Did you wax the ribbons also
  15. I was going to do the interior as well but upon opening the door I was greeted with mold!! So I buttoned her back up and left it at that.
  16. Welcome Hope you enjoy the PoliSeal, please let us know if we can be of any help. Happy Detailing, Anthony
  17. Hello Bigfoot, Thanks for joining and hope you're able to contribute and also learn. Happy Detailing, Anthony
  18. Lately I've been applying OptiSeal with a soft microfiber towel and completely buffing it into the paint leaving hardly anything to evaporate. This has been working out really nice. Anthony
  19. Hello and welcome to the forum I use Hi-Temps QD for all my cars finished with OptiSeal, PoliSeal or OCW. It's just as good as any overly high priced QD but costs a lot less. Works great, smells great and leaves a nice slick finish. I'm not sure I would use an acrylic QD though on top of OptiSeal....I'm thinking that may cause some issues.....maybe. As for the acrylic Danase product I'm not sure of, or any acrylic product, as I have never used one in conjunction with OptiSeal. I'm one for using OptiSeal all on its own and very rarely do I ever top it, or any other lsp I am applying. About all I do is maybe go over PoliSeal with OCW. Happy to see you like the products and look forward to seeing some pictures of your car when done. Take care, Anthony
  20. Hello! Thanks for stopping by and I love your beautiful country. For the detailing of your Toyota I would skip the Poli-Seal for Optimum Polish and then use only one layer of P21S. I know there is debate over layering wax and I'm in the camp that it does no good. Wax does not bond to paint but rather lays a micro thin layer on top of the paint. Adding more layers will only remove or replace the first layer as it can't be layered. Give that first wax layer a few hours before applying your first OptiSeal layer, then you can layer OptiSeal about every 5 hours after that initial layer. With the PoliSeal plus the P21S plus the OptiSeal you may run into some smearing/hazing issues which is why I recommend going with the Polish rather than the PoliSeal. Post up some pictures when done and happy detailing Anthony
  21. I would have no idea about the polycharger but my guess would be that if it did anything it would perhaps be in the way of smaller water beads as that seemed to be the only effect on Zaino CS with added polycharger according to one gentleman who tried it. It didn't seem to do a great deal in terms of added durability. I look at it this way....OptiSeal is so easy to apply that I have no problem with adding a layer every month or so If you try the polycharger let us know your thoughts. Anthony
  22. Yea Ron and I have been after David for some time to get this one out and it will be made BUT the ingredients used to make it are costly so Dr. G. is mulling over if people will pay for it but we have assured him that they will because IT WORKS!! So give us a bit and it will be out as soon as possible. Anthony
  23. If layering the ideal wait time would be 15 to 24 hours BUT I have applied 4 layers one hour apart and it worked perfect. Now as for rain on the surface...that doesn't matter with Optiseal. Optiseal should start to dry right after being applied to paint. Start at one end of a fender and by the time you reach the other end your starting point should be dry. Anthony
  24. I do not like to use Optiseal with any carnauba mainly because I like the looks of the Optiseal by itself. It seems everyone wants to use with a wax but I have no idea why? Polish the paint properly, apply the Optiseal and you're done...... if anything I'll go over it with some OCW. Anthony
