  1. A&J, nice to be back, just very busy in real life. I agree with you and Yvan, using OPC at higher dilution rates is a good thing to do. It uses less product as most of the time leather will not get as dirty as wheels or engines so a weaker dilution is more appropriate. Not sure when this was posted but it does talk about interior cleaning at 3:1 http://optimumpolytech.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/power-clean.html
  2. A&J, Power Clean is safe at 3:1 according to Dr G but it would be wasteful not to water it down even further. This is one of the nice things about Power Clean, at 3:1 it will clean wheels and leather safely. No idea how this works but it is obviously very different to most other cleaners. It is just a shame it is so expensive this side of the pond.
  3. As an aside, when an American says he is pissed, it means he is angry. In the UK it means he is very drunk!
  4. Sounds like some MDR is exactly what you want.
  5. Nice work, nice car. Nice to see the Car Wash was used. Not as famous as ONR but simply a nice product which does a good job
  6. Having a collection of MF cloths is always a good thing, waterless washing can mean using quite a few cloths. I am sure OPT would be very happy to sell you some of theirs, Rag Company cloths also look good but any decent cloths should do the job. As an aside, it is a shame Ceedog no longer posts on here but he now works for a competitor organisation and so is unlikely to be spending any time here
  7. Does the BRS need to be soaked before using or can it be simply dunked in ONR and is instantly ready?
  8. Good question, if we assume poliseal has a similar abrasive level to GPS then it will be very mild but I do wonder how it would compare to the finishing polish, which I have not tried
  9. Spent quite sometime looking at the options for this product but so far the best option would appear to be waiting for someone to bring this into the UK. I will see if Santa will bring me a bottle
  10. Finally received permission to buy this product from swmbo. No one had this for sale in the UK so had a look at the OPT European distributor. This failed as a bottle would cost me over $50 so will now go back to waiting for someone to sell it in UK
  11. The Guz, if you have access to an extractor or even better a steamer I would love to know how much better, if any, these work compared to applying by hand.
  12. Very nice work. I really should try this product one day but laziness stops me from ordering from Europe as it is not sold in the UK. The Guz, I noticed your write up on another forum and just wanted to say you did a great job with that car, even if you used non OPT products
  13. You have missed a trick here, you could have released the iRon, the perfect product for domestic detailing with the associated iRon Board. The perfect gift for anyone called Ron
  14. .....and whilst I am asking strange questions.....could CFCP be used in an iron so that instead of washing, just iron a shirt?
  15. Thanks Ron. Actually I was thinking about using this on my house carpet rather than anything car related but then I discovered no one sells CFCP (not a great acronym) in the UK. I do love the idea it can safely be used in a steamer. I wonder how well CFCP would work in cleaning work suits Edit. Forgot to suggest someone makes a video of CFCP showing how effective it is and tips for getting the best from it
  16. Ron, the suggestion to use an extractor or steam cleaner if required, what would be the best way to use these machines e.g. is the solution added to the steam machine or applied to carpet and then steamed
  17. Not tried the SP dressing although I do like the brand, would be interested in your comparison between it and Optibond
  18. A&J, what are you currently using? I like CarPro PERL on tyres as it lasts longer than Optibond and gives a lower gloss level but on door seals both products show similar levels of durability
  19. Once tried Optibond on some interior trim. Too glossy for my tastes and probably more work buffing than a traditional interior dressing. Works quite well on exterior plastic but durability is average, do like it however on door seals
  20. I think wax on-wax off was from the Karate Kid (1980's?)
  21. Also Optimum GPS - Glaze Polish Seal I thought WOWA was wipe on, walk away This car cleaning stuff certainly has a lot of acronyms
  22. Not directly compared them but from memory poliseal worked well by hand whereas I think GPS is much better by machine and is ok by hand. Durability seems to be about a month with GPS but works well as a base for OCW or Opti-seal. Years ago someone (Kevin Brown?) did a very interesting test with the Duragloss AIO and found it was very good with a compounding pad, I do wonder how GPS would work under the same test
  23. Small suggestion for one of the podcasts. Whilst there has been a lot of talk about the professional markets and products, how about talking about the consumer products like OPC, Protectant Plus, Optibond etc
  24. Really enjoyed the polishing podcast. Fascinating insight into the concepts behind the products. One question which came to me was regarding the polishing speeds. Much was made about using low speeds for example with a rotary, using lower than 1000rpm but on the labels the suggested speeds are between 1200 and 1400. I know understand why lower speeds are advised but why are the instructions suggesting higher rpm
