The Guz got a reaction from KIS76@ in NEW FORMULA HYPER SEAL
Just to add to this thread.  I never tried the original version.  With that said a fellow Autogeek forum member sent me a bottle to test out and I reviewed it on my channel.  I did enjoy using it and the hydrophobic behavior is very nice.  Very minute difference in the water beading compared to a true coating but still nice.  I did experience a strange static issue when applying it which went away after a few minutes.  I mean to the point where I could feel it stand the hair on my arms.
I would venture to say that this is a lite version of Gloss Coat.
As a caution to everyone, don't smell the product unless you want your nostrils to burn.  Would recommend waring a respirator with this one.

Glassparency is not that great.  More hype then anything.  Needs constant maintenance every 3 months.  I polished it off after trying it.  OptiGlass is a better product compared to Glassparency.

Just another variation of a coating that is infused with graphene oxide.  Too early to tell if there is any benefit as these coatings are in their infancy.

Going to play a little devils advocate here.  This was one of the latest videos that was posted on the rag company youtube channel.  Around the 15 min mark Levi holds up a pluffle which clearly has some light dirt in it.  Again around the 15:25 mark Yvan folds his towel and again there is some dirt on it.  So there is going to be some light dirt pick up.   The sponge is not going to get everything.   Pre-soaking does help on the dirtier areas.

The Guz reacted to A&J in Brand new BMW M1 got Gloss coated
I got contacted to detail and protect a brand new BMW M1 series in estoril blue. The costumer and I set up a date that happened to be this weekend.
Like mentioned the car was brand spanking new so when it arrived it looked great which was good for me as I didnt have much to do.
    The car upon arival

The car was fairly clean for a 2 day old...the wheels had some brake dust acumulated and there was some bug splatter in front

Upon inspection I diddnt find any major damage, just some light swirls that will be removed with polishing. They were most visible on the back lights.

I went with the Mike Phillips aggresive wash technique.
So I started with the chemical decon procedure. I used a local iron remover product called Carshinefactory Iron off.

Snow foamed and washed usind OPT car wash

Foamed again and clayed the paint using a clay mitt.

I pulled the car into the garage to dry it and to polish it using OPT Hyper polish and LC orange pad on a DA. 1-2 passes were enough to remove light swirls. I polished the entire car in about 2h (very fast yes I know). I used OPT paint prep to remove polishing oils.

Gloss coat was applied to the majority of the car...

...The majority because I ran out of it and had to use Gyeon Cancoat for the back boot and bumper. One coat of Gloss coat and 3 coats of Cancoat on the back 1h apart and left it in the garage over night.

The next morning I applied Carpro Reload to help the coating cure for the next couple of weeks.

    Fk1000p on the exhaust

    Gtechiq C2 on the wheels

and TAC system tyre dressing on the tyres

The interior was vacuumed and the plastics wiped with OPT opti-clean. The door shuts were polished with OPT poli-seal. The engine bay was wiped with APC and plastics protected with Wolfs chemicals plasic & trim coat.
    End results

    Thats it.
    Thanks for watching.

Unfortunately I don't have access to either of those. One of those is next on the list to get.

The Guz, as usual, is correct. Additional coats (after 1 hour) will ensure compete coverage and increase gloss, they do not add durability. Opti-Seal is another way to accomplish the same protection.

Opti-Seal works fine with this combo. Gloss Coat works even better over solution finish.

For tires on my personal cars right now I am a big fan of McKee's 37 tire coating. Opti-Bond is good as well. The difference is of course longevity. Maybe next year we will get an optimum tire coating available to the public.

I'm familiar with the products you have used. Ultimate Polish is a great product but it also contains quite a bit of polishing oils. It will darken the paint substantially. I have used eraser prior to applying gloss coat and I did not have any issues. This was prior to paint prep being available. I have since switched over to paint prep exclusively.

In saying this, how many times did you go around the vehicle with an eraser wipedown? On that same vehicle I coated and used eraser and a non optimum polish (same family as what you used but with less oils), I went around 3 times to ensure all the polishing oils were removed. There has been a lot of talk about eraser containing surfactants. I don't know if it does. But I can say that Optimum Paint Prep clearly states on the label that it does not.

I have used both a suede applicator and the included blue foam applicator with gloss coat. Both worked flawlessly. I do like the dual applicator with opti-seal. I don't see any issues with the applicator.

What have you washed the car with since you coated the vehicle? Not all car shampoos are created equally.

Do you notice the cloudy appearance on the entire vehicle?
