  1. Welcome to Optimum! Hyper Seal should help with tree sap, bugs, and other pollutants. Sap is tough and worse when it bakes on, but Power Clean and/or MDR can remove it will a little work.
  2. The Opti-Coat line, including Hyper Seal, is available to international distributors. The UK distributor does not carry OC, but might consider your request.
  3. I've suggested to Dr G that the new Hyper Seal should be made available internationally - it is for retail sale here from the OPT web site.
  4. The G in GPS stands for Glaze and it's the only OPT product that has fillers. Like any filling product, the results are temporary and ultimately the scratches return.
  5. seems pretty judgmental, 808? Sounds like a legit question, even if the number of cars it relates to are limited.
  6. ONR's claim to environmentally safe is not only due to water conservation, but the chemicals are not harmful. I literally dump my wash bucket in flower gardens and when I told Dr G that, he said it was made up of polymers and dirt, both good for plants.
  7. We suggest Protectant Plus, since it cleans, coats, and protects leather/vinyl/etc. Unlike other interior treatments, it's not sticky when applied. Dr G has 2 German cars and uses it on his interior surfaces (and I use it on leather living room furniture). Opti-Guard Leather would work as well, but besides being a Pro product, it's more of a coating than conditioner.
  8. Hearing from pro installers that MF towel is much better at applying Hyper Seal vs foam applicator. Because I use it as drying aid, I'm always using MF drying towel.
  9. There is no single answer, depends on where you live and what specific services you need?
  10. BRS or not, he makes a great point, particularly for heavy duty winter cleaning - keep your wash media dripping wet! All that solution lubricates the removal of salt & sludge. On the other hand, once had someone complain that ONR messed up his garage floor...can't please some people.
  11. sorry about the dusting and I've not heard of any "bad batches" of Compound. Freely admit I rarely use Hyper Compound or a anything other than Zentool. My go to is Hyper Polish and it serves my minimal needs.
  12. Thank you Stephen - I'm frequently asked how to use a rinseless in winter and this is an excellent explanation.
  13. KIS, I understand that spray sealants are a current Flavor the the Month, but Optimum Spray Wax is still a great product. Used weekly or even bi-weekly Wax should easily protect even in a NE winter.
  14. I can promise you that beading is one of the last things Dr G looks at and is really just a byproduct of the characteristics he is concerned about. Tug and I have both commented on the obsession some have with beading - the amount, the size, how quickly they disperse. I get that beading is one of the easiest observable factors, but the cheapest wax on the shelf will create beads. The qualities Dr G is looking for, in no particular order, are durability, hardness, chemical resistance, appearance, ease of application, value, etc.
  15. As BC mentions, Power Clean will weaken/remove LSP (but not ceramic coatings or Hyper Seal) and should mostly be used for spot cleaning. That said, it's Optimum's best all purpose decontaminating 1 size fits all product (vs using the full inventory - FerreX, MDR, Paint Prep, etc).
  16. I'm often asked about the polymers "left behind" and how they may affect various toppings. I've heard rumors that some LSP's don't have the same shine, hydrophobics, durability, etc on ONR, but have no practical experience since I don't test them. As has been mentioned many times, Optimum products are formulated to work seamlessly together, and if some other brand doesn't, well that's easily/painlessly corrected. Optimum feels no need to defend it's products.
  17. It's been done, can't speak to results. Car Wash will neutralize Power Clean pH. Question is how much does the car wash dilute PC?
  18. That's an awfully broad question - there's too many "others" to know where to start!
  19. sorry no responses, Heijneker, but I've never had Hyper Compound act like that or had feedback to that effect. The most common issues with HC are separation, difficulty remixing, and/or spray head malfunction.
  20. I take back my statement the Optimum does not recommend using OS on leather, Yvan shows it used that way (and was an agent for OPT then) and our web site describes it as safe on leather and vinyl. My bad, I've never recommended it for that use. Having admitted that, I repeat that it's safe on skin and has no immediate or long term effect on health. Either believe me or not...but I'm not asking Dr G. I take the time to follow you down rabbit holes but will not ask him.
  21. Optimum is not a marketing company, but I suggest the term "permanent" is just that. All coatings are permanent on garage queens or lightly driven vehicles...But you're promoting durability as the most important characteristic when appearance, ease of maintenance, resistance to marring/etching, etc are equally valuable. The obvious difference in coatings is durability, and easiest to promote, but I believe the other characteristics are just as important...and better the coating, the greater those other features. If all you want is durability, buy Gloss-Coat and apply Hyper Seal every 6-12 months and you will have a permanent coating. Easy peasy! I never said Opti-Coat Pro was gone, the car looks great, just that the hardness has declined so that micro-marring occurred. Normal wear & tear on a daily driver, combined with regular maintenance, AND UV have reduce the coating enough to allow minor damage.
  22. If you want to be the Forum Police and verify every statement for absolute correctness, I guess that's your right. It comes across, to me, as questioning many of the things I say, and several times. I may not not be as detailed as you (see the length of your response above), but I think my answers are correct and when there's confusion, I take the time to follow up. This business is not one of absolutes and as we get new information I try to update what's on this forum. That will sometimes lead to discrepancies/corrections. I suspect OP's ceramics were not pro quality or warrantied and now they have a line that is...but I don't know and am not going to research it. If you're interest, feel free to contact OP. You say you research, but I've stated numerous times that Hyper Seal is formulated for durability on ceramic coatings and you questioned whether it will last on Opti-Coat Pro or be shed. There have been other questions you've asked that were answered numerous times, but you still question the responses. This Forum is not my life's work, but I take it seriously and do my best to respond. When you question me 4 times in 1 day, it makes me wonder if you do have an agenda?
