PPF for Boeing Dreamliner?

Recommended Posts

Just watched a show called Ultimate Airport Dubai (Season 2, ep 10) where they show a A380 taken out of service for 5 days at a cost of around $8M in lost revenue in order to repaint the panels around the business class seats.  It seems they use 5 layers of paint on the panel and these cannot be 'touched up' and so need to be sanded and repainted in situ.  Curiously the final polish is with a bit of 3M polish and a rag!

I really could not help but think this must be a good opportunity for the OPT PPF products although I have no meaningful knowledge of PPF and my experience of airlines is from many many years ago it would seem there could be an opportunity to improve things

I haven't heard of anyone putting film on aircraft but it certainly makes sense.  The issue is getting OEM approval.  Several years ago I tried to get Boeing to approve Optimum products (Wax, ONR, Seal) on their planes and couldn't fight my way through the bureaucratic gatekeepers .
