    ONR as tire dressing?

depending on what you expect from a tire dressing - other than cleaning, I don't see any durability or much shine from ONR on tires.

    ONR as tire dressing?

rebumping interesting, anyone ever try onrww as a mild/light tire dressing of sorts?

    Thank you

I cleaned a total of 15 cars today, using just two 3 gallon and one 1 gallon ONR W&S solutions and the BRS. Cleaned cars sitting on a dealer lot, all pretty dusty/dirty, from several months of no cleaning, and it was a hot day. After cleaning about 5 dirty cars with it, the black-hole look-a-like ONR solution didn't perform very well on a baking hot black car in the sun haha. Who would have thought! My fastest car, a Ford Ka from 2004, took me Approx 8 min.! I didn't clean the wheels and on some cars I did 'spot-repair' (cleaning stubborn parts of dirt). I basically clean the whole car with the BRS, (Yes the car dries almost completely due to the sun and the heat, leaving polymer spots.) then take a damp cloth and a dry MF towel. For windows and hot dark-coloured cars in the sun, with a dirty solution,I use both towels. With brighter cars, the damp cloth was sufficient for drying without smears! Awesome stuff!!!!
  6. I always rinse the car with hose before i do any thing . Onr is not waterless wash as far as I know my car is gloss coated and optimum wax and opti seal 80 % of the dirt comes of with the hose then soak car with onr with ik or weed sprayer then onr wash . I also like to use foam on the realy dirty parts as well. Coming back from fishing once the car was realy a mess I rinsed the car sprayed the hole car with onr and then put optimum soap on top with foam cannon and then washed with several mitts soaked in onr it kills the foam a bit but wow its very slippery soulution .

To presoak or not presoak? ONRww

my cars never get that dirty so i’ve played around with pre soaking vs pre rinsing vs nothing and the results are roughly the same in the end, ive stuck with pre rinsing with a hose just because it’s the quickest method and knocks off the most annoying debris (live bugs, residual leaves, etc) my routine before i start a wash is to rinse the car off, foam power clean (1:3) from an ik foamer to the lower part of the car and in particular the wheels and exhaust, rinse off and then bring the car in for an indoors rinseless wash

    Optimum Synergy Podcast M.I.A.

That explains the many threads where it looks like people were getting answers to questions yet I couldn't find any of those answers reading between the question posts and the thank you posts.

    Hello from Pittsburgh

hi travis you will love the gloss coat. i have used it twice and never used opti seal on it after. had no problems. I found the second time i used gloss coat after polish i used lots of optimums paint prep i really wiped it down made a big difference no high spots the product just flows better and on there thicker every product i used was optimum except pads could not get them . i am no pro but i am better now being on this form one thing that is great and makes it easy is how optimums products all work together one on top of the other i have got a hold of some optimum hyper seal cant wait to see it on top of my gloss coat have fun
  11. I meant prespray by presoak. I use a portable washer which I fill with ONR and rinse the entire car down before using the BRS and bucket. https://www.snowjoe.com/products/sun-joe-wa24c-lte-24v-150-psi-max-multi-purpose-clean-anywhere-portable-spray-washer-with-5-gal-tank I do this during the winter time when my landlord shuts off the outdoor water supply to prevent the pipes from freezing. But since I have completely moved away from traditional washes just wanted to know if I can skip the prespray/presoak/pre-rinse step.
  12. That was his master plan, first review and suggest products, make people follow and trust you. Then start showing the negative of such said products, then introduce your “Superior” product.

    Hello from Pittsburgh

Opti-Seal is a safety factor but not necessary, it's only 7 days until you can wash your Coated car.

    Hello from Pittsburgh

Thanks for the quick response Ron. Without the Opti-Seal do you think keeping the car garaged and spot detailed with ONR is sufficient during the cure period? If not, I've no problem waiting for to get my hands on Opti-Seal....current LSP is doing just fine. Hello Heijneker!
  15. Yes I am the same now since i have completely gone to the dark side lol a quick spray down the dirty areas only takes a minute. Cant see any mobile detailer not doing this .
  16. I watched Scott early on and thought he made good points about the kinds of road pollutants you deal with. I took exception when he tested products, claiming to be unbiased, but always seemed to find fault with Optimum products. Wasn't surprised when he introduced his own line...

    Thank you

Oh and it makes my hands feel amazing after washing! 😁

    Hello from Pittsburgh

Welcome to the forum! Sadly I don't have the experience and knowledge to answer your questions, but I'm all your questions will be answered.

To presoak or not presoak? ONRww

I think it's a case by case situation. I always pre=spray (as opposed to pre-soak), hitting the bugs on front, wheels, tires, wheel wells, and rear before doing rinseless wash. Sometimes it's not necessary, but is a habit for me.
  20. Once and a will I like to pre soak the car with onr I use my pro 12 ik sprayer this thing can be filled with air from a compressor so you have alot of pressure and can get the onr in the gaps around doors and panels and flush out dirt then I flood car with big red sponge and wipe clean it also has a long handle you can do the roof of a suv standing in one spot its very fast to cover any car with all optimum products

    Hello from Pittsburgh

Welcome to the Optimum Forum - you're right, a lot of helpful advice here! We recommend applying Gloss-Coat with the foam applicator, though some may have other advice. The other most common suggestion is the suede applicator. Opti-Seal is not Si02 (and neither are the other products you mention). In general, and not to be "homers", but IMO it's best to stay within the family for protection. All Optimum products have synergy, not all other manufacturers products perform as well in combination.
  22. I’ve always presoaked but as I am getting older it’s getting tiring lol If ONR was designed to be used without presoak then I suppose it’s safe without it? Still using your best judgement depending on your case.
  23. Hello from western PA! Detailing has always been a hobby of mine, and this forum seems to be a very helpful community. Over the years I have acquired numerous tools and products to help keep my vehicle looking better than new. My go to products have been Menzerna PowerLock, and recently, TW Hybrid Ceramic Polish and Wax which was used on my copper metallic Ford Fusion Hybrid a few weeks ago. The gloss is crazy as well as the water beading. However, I'm always looking for more and after using Optimum No Rinse I realized how awesome Optimum products are. As I'm currently in optometry school I can't always find the time to properly maintain my car's paint and decided to bite the bullet on buying a syringe of Gloss Coat. After doing hours of research on this forum and watching Yvan on YouTube, the following is my intended plan: 1. ONR wash; APC on areas that need it 2. Decontamination with iron remover and synthetic clay 3. Optimum Hyper Polish on a Green Hex-Logic pad with polish removal using GYEON Surface Prep and new Eagle Edgeless MF towels 4. Apply Gloss Coat as directed ***is it better to use another applicator pad or a short nap MF for spreading high spots? 5. ***it seems the general consensus is to use Opti-Seal an hour after application as a protectant while Gloss Coat cures . Can another product like Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Quik Wax or TW Seal & Shine be used instead? Or does it need to be an SiO2 based sealant?
  24. @mr_robot Great your being honest (with yourself). I wonder how you could stand the man. I can't stand the way and amount he talks. It takes too long to get to the point, and I have never gained anything worthwile from him. And I can't stand his Ego, he thinks he's the new christ coming. /Rant-mode off

    Big Red Sponge

I just throw mine in the washing machine with other MF towels and use MF restorer solution. Might be time to retire this sponge for dirtier jobs, think it’s about 4yrs old.
  26. I used to follow Scott at Dallas Paint Correction respectively and thought all his insights were great but in the end it was just all a master plan to launch his own products. I bought them of course believing in his system but all his products were mediocre at best. Used his rinseless and Sio2 spat sealant and definitely not repurchasing them and back to Optimum for majority of my products.
