i was wondering if optimum wax is single stage paint compatible
and do the various polishes respond well with ss paint

The various Optimum polishes/compunds work excellent with single stage paint as does Poli-Seal and Opti-Seal. OCW though is best left for clears. You can though try OCW on single stage as it won't hurt anything but you may get some streaking.

Opti-seal will work great on SS paint.
I find the Poli-Seal to work wonders on this type of paint as well.

I've used Poli Seal on single stage paint quite a few times with great results. Poli Seal also works awesome on gelcoats.

Opt polish and compound are great on SS paint. This pic is after OC on orange flat LC, OP on white LC CCS and OPS on white LC CCS
