Read up some on this, but still a little unsure. I don't really have a desire to buy a spray gun. Is opti bond something I can use by hand, meaning with an applicator? I am just trying to move to one product line, and I think Optimum is absolutely GREAT! Any help is appreciated, as I would like to order today!

Thanks!

From what I've heard Anthony, and other that have used OB, you'll be wasting product if you use it by hand. IntegrityDetail came up with a great idea. If you look up his posts, you'll see what I'm talking about (search the forum for Wagner). If you don't go that route, I'd recommend sticking with Optimum Tire Shine. It's spray bottle friendly and leaves a nice matte finish.

I've used the Opti Bond with a foam applicator and it works and looks really well. This seems to be more durable than the spray too. You do waste some product by doing it by hand, it is just personal preference really.

I'm diluting 2:1 throught the Wagner gun, so the money I saved on the one gallon will have paid for my gun, ahhh ... justification, lol! BTW you can't reproduce the results I get in the wells by hand, even if you do get the tire to look good. I put the OB on too heavy with a foam pad B4 I got the gun and it attracted alot of dust, so just don't over apply it by hand and you may want to try different dilutions.

2 Parts OB to 1 water? Sounds good....about how much OB are you using in ounces for 4 tires in the sprayer?

No, the first number in any ratio should be the dilutant. 2 parts water to 1 part OB. You can get 3 gallons of usable product from one gallon of consentrate at this ratio which would save you about $65 over using it by hand without diluting. The black Tundra I posted pics of a few days ago was done at this ratio and I really loved the results. Through the gun, I didn't have to wipe off excess, even out, or anything; just spray on and walk away. I'm not at all saying that you HAVE TO buy a gun, but that's how the product was intended to be used. I love the look of the Tire Shine too, so if I was gonna apply by hand, that's what I'd stick with. Actually I take TS wilth me when I deliver in case I need to touch up after driving.

And on the quantity, I'll have to get back to you. It isn't very much. The first batch I mixed 1:1 per insructions and did like 4-5 cars, but I didn't fill the container even halfway and I wasn't watching too closely because I was just trying to get it to look right. Now that I have the look I want, I will mix the next batch and note how many cars and wells I do...
