  1. Was reading if coatings were good for track day wheels. I came across this post about Opti coat pro from “rika-San” “I frequently use Iron X to remove stubborn melted on brake pads from my track car's rims. I can say with confidence that opticoating wheels does make washing/cleaning them easier. I would have done the track car too but apparently opticoat will fail under the extreme heat of automotive sport, the temps from the rotors, pads and callipers will destroy it. So yes, it works.” Does Opti coat pro not work on track use brake calipers or wheels since it is exposed to extreme heat?

    Opti-Seal, Wax, and Detailer Question

I would follow instructions on the bottle for Opti seal + instant detailer. Wait 30 minutes. ive been told and am understanding that optimum car wax can be put on top of Opti seal or even before Opti seal immediately, no wait time. How instant detailer falls in this, I would probably wait till next wash or at least 24 hrs to do Instant detailer
  3. I know in alot of OPT polishing videos, the pad washer is used which contains ONR and the videos show Levi priming the polisher pad up with ONR, and spun to dry before putting on hyper polish/hyper compound. I am not using a pad washer and was planning on just using hyper polish/hyper compound on the pad, polish one panel, and then do a quick "on the fly" cleaning of the pad using a terry cloth towel. Just like in this video. I use a Meguiars G110v2 DA polisher. I read from this article https://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-Pro/pad-cleaning-during-and-after-polishing/ that using ONR is good for cleaning pad on the fly. They spray some ONR on the polisher pad and use a towel to clean the residue off the pad. My question is: - For the sake of consistency between polishing panel #1 and panel #2, should I spray some ONR on the polisher pad before working on panel #1? I'm thinking that the results of polishing might differ between panel #1 and #2 too much because for panel #1 there was no ONR used, but for panel #2 (after cleaning the pad on the fly with ONR) there would be some ONR in the pad.
  4. I love optimum car wax as I think it is the only product of its kind due to UV patent. currently thought Turtle wax has come out with its Ice Seal and Shine which is their new standalone sealant product with mention that it is a cross between a ceramic coating and a spray wax. It’s been showing on YouTube to withstand heat and repel chemicals in ways I have not seen before. Was wondering if the Doc will be updating the spray wax to keep up with detailing trends?

ONR Wash and Wax with Opti-Seal

Currently I am doing ONR wash with big red sponge. While panel is still wet with ONR, I spray Optimum Car wax on the panel. I take a damp ONR microfiber towel that is wringed out so it isn’t going to dilute the optimum car wax, I use the towel to pick up any smudges/dirt on the paint that I may of missed with the big red sponge. Then I take a dry microfiber towel and I wipe the panel dry. i got this idea from how Ivan has been using the Clay towel to spread the wax. The only difference is I’m not using the clay towel but a regular microfiber towel damp with ONR. once it is wiped dry, I apply a spray wax like Turtle wax Ice or the Meguiars D156 Cote’s spray wax. However I don’t really know if adding the spray wax would interfere with optimum car wax as I didn’t let the wax “cure” before putting on another spray wax.
  6. Looking for Opti coat installer in the Las Vegas area. What doesn’t it mean when it says Optimum Ceramic Certified:No ? None of the listed on the search engine for opti coat are Optimum Ceramic Certified.

    Opti lens yellow liquid?

I did 1 set of headlights about 2-3 years ago with opti lens. I was still new to using the coatings back then. The blue tip I had to throw away because I didn’t clean it out properly and it hardened. Now im looking at the opti lens in the tube and it looks a slight tint of yellow as opposed to clear like water. is the opti lens no good anymore? want to upload a photo on iPhone to show you guys but I’m limited in upload size

    Opti lens yellow liquid?

liquid still, no gel consistency. Just looks a bit tanned color. A shame about the color since I did keep it indoors and out of light too.

  18. this guy seems to know a but and states that pretty much all waxes and sealants dont protect against sun damage if past its temperature or life expectancy of 24 months. what does optimum have to say about this?
  19. I was reading instructions online for onr ww. It doesnt state specifically that this product can be used for clay lube... just that you mix it in 1:256 for wash. Common sense tells me this product probably has the same dilution ratios for clay lube or quick detailer as regular ONR. Am I wrong? i also read that the quick detailer ratio was 8oz ONR:1 gallon. on the forum here i now read 10oz:1gallon when did it change?

    Optimum Pad Selection

Reviving this thread as it seems some info was lost... will the blue pad be enough to get rid of clay bar marring with hyper polish? Is it enough to get rid of opti coat? My assumption for opti coat would be yes... it would get rid of opti coat even on a blue pad.

    Decon wash

I have been pondering on the decon wash now. What dilution for OPC in a foam cannon? Will it still be effective if mixed with optimum car wash in a foam cannon? Like the Original poster... im wanting to spray the entire car with OPC but dont want to have issues with the glass.
  22. He also has a video about the big red sponge and ONR
  23. It seems OS was designed to work with an "applicator pad" since it is a wait till flash away type of product. Was wondering if there would be a problem spraying onto a microfiber towel and apply? Would the microfiber towel need to be primed with a couple sprays to limit too much product being absorbed when wiping?

Applying opti seal with microfiber towel

I find the yellow applicator pad to be too rough/grabby on paint. I havent used dual pro applicator or the blue applicator yet.

    ONR And Stubborn Water Spots

I was curious , was listening to the podcast and that ONR was mentioned being allowed to dry on the car, just reactivate it with more onr spray. If i use tap water mixed with onr at 256:1, and the car gets hit with sunlight and dried those areas, will there be no water spot damage?
