Finally finished 14 hour exterior detail-06 GTO

Next question, I was involved in a very minor traffic accident a couple of weeks ago and the car in at the body shop getting fixed. How long does the new paint and clear need to set/cure before I can re-coat the affected areas with Primer Polish and Gloss Coat? On another note finally received my Hyper Seal a while back and damn, the car's shine/gloss level is insane! I've been recommending the whole Optimum line, especially GC, to anyone who will listen. I'm 56 and have never owned a car that looks this good on the outside and that includes several new cars over the years. 20180726_173917 by Tim Teague, on Flickr 20180726_173935 by Tim Teague, on Flickr

Don't wait on the GC, put it on then finish your OS on top of it. The look/shine/depth is insane. When I use up all my OS I'm running right out and buying Hyper Seal, it's supposed to be more mind-blowing than OS. If I can even wait that long lol.
  3. Having used ONR for 10 years I knew Optimum put out solid products. For what seems like forever I dabbled with Zaino, Menzerna/Jescar, Wolfgang, Meguires etc. with various products being favorites of mine. Recently got into a conversation with a friend who's a pro detailer about some of the newer products they have. He swears by the whole Optimum line and I now see why. The Goat's paint was in great shape from the get go, the car only has 60K miles. It was rarely driven and was garage kept except for the last 3 years. In that time she has lived and continues to do so outside 24/7. So needing to find products that were durable, protected the paint, looked great and were easy to work with became a priority. So glad I decided to use all Optimum products for my detail, the results are amazing, especially since I had never used any of them before. Started with an ONR bath then a clay bar pass. Then in this order here's how I finished it: Opti-Coat Primer Polish Gloss Coat Opti-Seal Opti-Bond tire treatment Stoners Invisible glass(yeah I get it, not an Optimum product lol) My trusty Porter Cable 7424 once again came through with flying colors and removed 85% of my swirls/spiderwebbing. You all can guess the rest, I'll let a few pics do the rest of my talking. Extremely pleased how it turned out. Given the fact I had to wait a week between the OCPP and GC applications due to 7 days of rain it's even more amazing it all worked out as well as it did.

Hyper seal or opti seal on gloss coat?

Thanks for the advice. Finished my long exterior detail yesterday using Opt. Primer Polish, Gloss Coat and Opti-Seal. Pretty happy with the results. Will the GC get more depth and shine as it cures? I had a deeper, wetter look using my old sealant; Jescar Power Lock Plus on top of Megs 205. I will say the OS is pretty amazing, super easy to apply and the level in the bottle didn't seem to change at all as I was using it. I have already ordered the HS and can't wait to use it as well.

Would Gloss Coat then OS topped with HS be a good idea or overkill? If it would all be compatible sounds like a brilliant shine would result.
  6. So what you're saying is we CAN have a detailing tool that is a no maintenance, re-use at will type. Score!! Might be a first in the detailing world.........

    Optimum Gloss-Coat

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I'll have a little more than a week between the applications for the car to get dirty. That should take care of the Gloss Coat's curing time but I'll obviously need to wash prior to the Opti-Seal. Would it be better to wash with WS or WW or does it matter. I have both in my stable.

    Optimum Gloss-Coat

Is there any downside to using ONRWW and Opti-Seal as a drying agent after an hour of applying Gloss Coat? Will the WW work well with the OS like ONRWS does? Should I just do the WW first the follow up with the OS? Love this forum, thanks for having me. I am a long time user of more than 10 years of ONRWS and a newer fan of the rest of the Optimum line. I have religiously used Wolfgang, Menzerna/ Jescar and Pooorboy's World Natty's blue in that timeframe. Thanks for any and all help.

    Opti-Pro Consistent Marring

This is what customer service looks like and I'm extremely happy to see a company that stands by it's products big time. Long time amateur detailer and the more I learn about Optimum and it's products the more impressed I am. Great job all! PS. how can I add to a member's "reputation"?
  11. Thanks Yvan, apparently I've been using the gel wrong. I apply it full strength. Any drawbacks other than using too much with it full?
  12. Like the title says what's the best way to clean a foam applicator after using it to apply Opti-Bond Tire Gel? I have used Dawn dish soap recently as I know it will remove wax from a vehicle but not too impressed with the results. Any suggestions?
