  1. Optiseal on top of OC 2.0

I put Opti-Seal over OC2.0 and it turned out great. The shine is better and the slickness is oustanding (actually sometimes too slick as my towels keep sliding off the panels). I used to use Permanon but this is even easier to use. Not sure how long will last but given how easy it goes on, just keep re-doing after it stops shining.

  3. Had a chance to apply a second coat of OC2.0 and after 24 hours gave them a shot of Opti-Seal. Holy smokes I'm really impressed. Almost can't wait for winter (not really ). If the shine last through the winter I will have the perfect recipe for coating Aluminum Rims.
  4. Opti Seal over Plasti-Dip

I recently was applying Opti-Seal for the first time on the front bumper of my 13 year old Grand Prix and had recently applied Plasti-Dip to the lower valance. While applying the Opti-Seal I got some on the PD. Didn't notice it as was doing in garage and poor lighting. Next day in moderate sunshine noticed the PD was shiney around the edges? This was the area I was overcoating with the Opti-Seal. I have PD on the inside door handles and they were typical PD tacky to the touch. Put on a light coat of Poli-Seal and wow. Shiney, no tackiness and looks great. Not sure how long it will last but the short term is looking good on the front bumper which gets the worst of the elements. Anyone else tried it on Plasti-Dip coated parts?

  7. Opti-Seal over Opti-Coat 2.0

I have a question. Can I put Optimum Gloss Coat over Opti-Coat 2.0 or do you need to buff (abrade it off)?
  8. Streaking with QD

I can second what the DR. says.I use it almost daily in the summer and it really works as suggested. My car has OC 2.0 so most detailers really don't do much for very long. Optimum Detailer works great.
  9. Frozen Optimum No Rinse

Does this apply to Optimum PolishII? Optimum Compound?
  10. I use the 3.5" pads on the Porter Cable Orbital Polisher with great results. I use Optimum Compound, Optimum Polish II and Optimum Polish. The foam pads are dependent on how much cut you want. If you wet block sand 1500-2000 grit then Medium cut on the Compound, Light cut on the Polish II and No cut on Polishinh pad. You can safely OC 2.0 after alcohol bath (I use 30% solution)
  11. Opti-Lens questions

I am going to use it on a new set of headlights. Should I use it on the inside of the lense? How would I do that? Also plan on soap wash and alcohol bath before applying just in case factory has some sort of coating on it. Good plan??
  12. Clay over Opticoat 2.0?

I regularly use the Prep Towel and Optimum Detailer and have had no dimish in the finish. Mine is a daily driver and every day gets all kinds of crap on it. Normal routine is wipe down with Optimum Detailer and every couple weeks Optimum Detailer and the Prep Towel (amazing how much noise the towel makes on the freshly cleaned surface). I tried this during the winter on a freshly touchless car wash and OBOY what a racket (lots of residue)
  13. Body Repair and Paint

I had mine painted at the body shop and the shop said it should be the same as applying wax. The paint cures over time (in this case 5 days) before you can wax (which is a sealer to some extent). You should be good to go based on the number of days the body shop says for waxing. Don't forget to properly prepare the paint before you apply OC 2.0
  14. Thanks for all the tips. I've been battling my cell phone for access to the forum. I have the Hyper Polish so I'll try that and apply a second cost of OC 2.0 before nasty Canadian Winter sets in.
  15. Recently installed by prepping: washed soap and water claybar and detailer glass cleaner CarPro Geriglass Polish with cutting foam pad wash soap and water glass cleaner 30% alcohol solution After apply waited 1min and wiped with micro fiber towel. It was bright sunny day and some slight hazing was noticed. Night time had starring effect from oncoming headlights. Cleaned with Opti-Glass clean and protect. Lots of streaking when applied with shop towel. Haze was slightly diminished but night vision same. Cleaned next day with Opti-Glass cleaner and micro fiber towel. Lots of smear marks on morning drive What could be the cause and how fix
