theory816
So I have an idea...Would optimum chemist be able to make a product that applies on top of car top coat to dissolve a very thin layer of paint. You can then peel/rub it off leaving behind new paint. Very much like a snake shedding its skin. Gotta innovate haha!
Ron@Optimum
I imagine Dr G could do that but for what reason? I would bet there are already industrial strength cleaners that would do that (might check with a body shop). Optimum's market is coatings... theory816
For what reason?????? Well, cosmetics have done it, snakes have done it, why not cars? The point of the product is to chemical peel a very fine layer of top coat off of a car. Thats essentially what you are doing when you compound or polish. . If there is a product like this, it could obsolete the need for machine compounding. Body shops don't have it. Well, they do but it will peel off the entire paint of the car. Ron@Optimum
I didn't understand you were only talking a layer. I'm not the chemist but I could see lack of control of the product as a potential issue - how do you limit the effect to one layer?
