SumBeach
Hello, i have recently purchased Gloss coat and with falling temps here in NY and likely a limited number of days above 60. My question related to the cure time of gloss coat. having read else where in the forum that you can top gloss coat in an hour or so with opti-seal to provide some protection for the 7 day curing window. with temps below 60 have any adverse effects on the curing during this time period? Ron@Optimum
Welcome to the Optimum Forum - there are a lot of experts here! We don't recommend applying in temps below 40 and the flash/ cure time will be longer in cold, dry conditions. Yes, you can apply Opti-Seal an hour after Coating for temporary protection while Gloss-Coat finishes curing.
SumBeach
The temps need to be 60 or above for the first hour only correct?
Ron@Optimum
Not necessarily, again 40 degrees is the minimum temperature Optimum recommends. Lower temps will cause the surface to cure more slowly but not inhibit the process.
Jayfuzz
Hi I recently had a paint correction and opti gloss coat applied last weekend and I was wondering if it's possible to do an opti coat pro+ application ?
Ron@Optimum
welcome to Opti-World! Applying Opti-Coat Pro+ over Gloss-Coat would require some prep/polishing. The components that add gloss and slickness to Gloss-Coat will not allow a good bond with OCP+. A light polish and decontamination wash should suffice.
